What problem do H&H oilers solve?

H&H oilers ensure consistent and optimal lubrication for vertical turbine pumps, preventing over- or under-lubrication.

This reduces bearing failures (which account for ~80% of pump breakdowns), cuts oil consumption, and minimizes groundwater contamination.

How do the devices handle oil viscosity changes due to temperature?

All models use optical sensors to detect and stabilize drop rates despite temperature-induced viscosity shifts or particulate blockages—ensuring consistent lubrication throughout the day.

What happens if oil flow stops or deviates unexpectedly?

Each device triggers an alert:

  • DripMaster can automatically shut down the pump.
  • DripDoser and DripGard activate an alarm relay, enabling pump shutdown or immediate notification.

Are these systems maintenance‑free?

Yes, they’re designed for automatic, maintenance‑free operation—stabilizing lubrication and raising alerts only if manual intervention is needed.

What industries are these products suitable for?

Ideal for vertical turbine pumps across applications like municipal water, agriculture, mining, oil & gas, and more, where precise lubrication and contamination control are critical.

Do I need to replace my entire lubrication system to use H&H oilers?

No. H&H oilers are designed to retrofit most existing drip oiling systems with minimal modification. They are compatible with standard vertical turbine pump lubrication setups.

What is your warranty policy?

Hofman & Hofman (H&H) products come with a 2-year limited warranty under normal use.

Note that the warranty does not cover damage due to improper installation, external factors (e.g. power surges, extreme temperature conditions), or misuse.

If a covered failure occurs during the warranty period, we will repair or replace the unit at no charge (customer pays shipping or installation if not included)

What kind of oil do these systems support?

H&H systems work with a wide range of ISO-grade turbine oils. The optical sensors are calibrated to adapt to various viscosities, especially under temperature changes.

Is calibration required after installation?

No calibration is needed in most cases. The systems self-adapt to flow conditions. If recalibration is necessary (e.g., after oil change), it can be done via a simple interface.

Do these devices have a warranty?

Yes. All H&H oilers include a limited warranty covering manufacturing defects and system failure due to normal use. Extended support plans are also available.

What voltage / power requirements do your products have?

  • DripDoser: Accepts 100–240 VAC (50/60 Hz) or 24 VDC

  • DripMaster: Typical models support 115 VAC, 220 VAC, or 24 V AC/DC.

  • All models consume relatively low power (on the order of 10 W or similar) depending on whether active components are engaged.

Be sure to check the specific configuration you order, as power requirements can vary slightly based on optional features.

Can I monitor multiple pumps from a single interface?

Yes. When integrated into SCADA or cloud platforms, multiple DripMaster units can be monitored and managed centrally—ideal for facilities with large pump arrays.

What if my drip rate is outside the safe range or alarms trigger?

If an alarm activates, it typically indicates one of the following:

  • Oil tank is empty
  • Input or output line is blocked or clogged
  • Drip adjustment knob is set incorrectly (too restrictive or too high)
  • Wiring or power issue

Steps to address:

  1. Refill oil or check the tank.
  2. Inspect & clean inline filters, tubing, and connections.
  3. Adjust the drip rate knob or DIP switches carefully.
  4. Reset the alarm (either via button or power cycling).
  5. Monitor if the device returns to normal operation.
  6. If issues persist, contact our support team for detailed diagnostics.

What’s the difference between DripMaster, DripDoser, and DripGuard?

  • DripMaster is the most advanced: it actively adjusts drip rates (via servo/valve), monitors performance, reports data, and can shut down pumps if lubrication issues are detected.

  • DripDoser is semi-active: it provides a preset drip rate (adjustable by DIP switches or mechanical knobs), with alarm capabilities.

  • DripGuard is passive: it does not actively control drip, but monitors drip rate and triggers alerts if dripping falls below safe thresholds.

How many models are available and what are their differences?

DripMaster

    • Active control with a servo-driven needle valve
    • Maintains precise drip rate
    • Integrates with SCADA/cloud and can shut down the pump upon lubrication issues.

DripDoser

    • Gravity‑based with selectable drop‑rate via dip switches
    • Alarm relay trips if drip rate deviates from the preset rate.

DripGard

    • Passive, simple monitoring
    • Alerts on oil supply interruption

Can these units integrate with remote monitoring systems?

Yes, especially the DripMaster, which provides active drip control and reporting capabilities via SCADA or cloud systems.

How much oil and downtime does H&H protection save me?

Protected pumps:

  • Reduce additional costs by ~80%
  • Double pump lifespan
  • Cut well‑visit frequency by over 70%

Do these systems prevent groundwater contamination?

Yes. By controlling oil drip precisely, H&H oilers deliver only the required oil amount, significantly reducing excess oil seeping into groundwater.

Where are H&H devices available and who are the customers?

Distributed globally through municipal, agricultural, and industrial partners.

Installations include extensive sites like Mekorot (Israel) and numerous US municipalities, where users report years of trouble‑free operation.

How difficult is installation?

Installation typically takes under an hour and can be performed by on-site technicians. We provide detailed manuals and remote support if needed.

How is the drip rate adjusted?

  • DripMaster adjusts automatically via a servo and can be fine-tuned remotely.
  • DripDoser uses onboard DIP switches for preset rates.
  • DripGard is a monitor only and does not control flow.

Can the system run without electricity?

Only DripGard functions passively without power. DripDoser and DripMaster require power (typically 24V DC or 110/220V AC, depending on model).

How do I know if the oiler is working correct

Each device provides visual and/or digital indicators. DripGard and DripDoser have alarm relays, while DripMaster also logs and reports operational status and history.

How do I choose which model is right for me?

Consider these factors when selecting between DripMaster, DripDoser, and DripGuard:

  1. Automation / control needs: If you require active adjustment, feedback, and remote control, DripMaster is ideal.

  2. Budget vs features: DripDoser offers many benefits at lower cost than DripMaster.

  3. Basic protection: If you only need to guard against dry-running and alarm low drip, DripGuard may suffice.

  4. System integration: If your facility already uses SCADA or remote monitoring, choose a model that supports integration.

  5. Pump / well conditions: For wells with large pressure or viscosity variation, more advanced control may pay off over time.

If you share your pump depth, flow rates, and operating conditions, we can help you pick the best match.

How do I order, and what is shipping / lead time?

  • You can request a quote from our website (via the Products or Contact pages).

  • Once the configuration is confirmed, we’ll issue a purchase order and arrange shipment.

  • Lead times depend on stock, regional shipping, and any customization.

  • For international clients, we handle export logistics including packaging, paperwork, and customs (as needed).

If you tell me your country or region, I can estimate lead time and shipping costs for you.

Can these systems be used in hazardous (ATEX or Class I Div 2) environments?

Custom enclosures and certifications are available for use in hazardous zones. Contact support to confirm compliance for your specific site.
